When Perrie Edwards posted a pic of her favourite boots on instagram, we don't reckon she thought it'd cause quite as much controversy as it has.
'Cos Pezza's 9-year-old moccasin-style lace-up boots are being slammed for cultural appropration AND a load of dumb trolls are shaming the fact that she might not have freshly shaved her legs.
Oh come aaaaan, people. (If you saw our legs right now, jeeeez)
First up: the cultural appropriation debate.
Some commenters took to instagram to share their concern about Perrie's boots, saying that she was being disrespectful
One person wrote: 'I love them, and I love you, but I'm kinda having mixed feelings about this, moccasins are apart of a traditional Native American regalia and something like that is earned, not just given to you. They aren't just some other piece of clothing'
But other people disagreed, commenting:
'What's annoying is how someone isn't aloud [sic] to wear something that comes from another culture. Stop screaming culture appropriation. How about she's just appreciating the fashion from another culture. People always try and make it seem like this is disrespectful/culture appropriation. When im pretty sure she's just wearing them because she likes them.'
Alright, so there's a fair discussion to be had there but the SHAVING OF THE LEGS COMMENTS. SRSLY PEOPLE?
'I can see your leg stubble', one person wrote, with a load more then jumping on the "why hasn't Perrie shaved?" bandwagon.
We literally can't even deal with that rn. GAHD.
