So, you know that feeling of deep dread in the pit of your stomach you get every time you release that your period is due right when you're about to go on holiday? It's sod's law and somehow ALWAYS manages to happen.
(Yeah, cheers for that one, Mother Nature.)
WELL, now the masterminds over at Boots hold the genuine power to DELAY your period for that exact reason.
It's called the 'Period Delay Service' and it basically allows women access to prescription-only medicines that can delay your period, without having to go see your doctor.
All you have to do is fill in an online consultation form to see if a prescription medicine is suitable for you and once approved, they can then make arrangements for collection or delivery.
Boots pharmacist Angela Chalmers says: "Pop into your local pharmacy and speak to your pharmacist about the different options available which include the Boots online clinic. This provides the option of a 10 or 20-day course of progesterone tablets which work to delay your period until the tablets are stopped. This can help you enjoy this time of your life, without the worry of the time of the month.
There's a small catch, 'cos you do have to pay for it. But, a 10-day supply costs £14.90 and a 20-day course costs £22.40 - so it's totally affordable.
Worth it? Let's discuss @sugarscape. THANKS.
