The Harry Potter series has taught us many things that have arguably made us better human beings, but, one thing that we hadn't considered up until this moment is that the books contain solid, incontrovertible proof of time-travel.
Even though the idea of anything extraordinary is something that Uncle Vernon would resent with every fibre of his being - he is actually the character that provides the undeniable, meme-worthy proof of the future colliding with the past.
But hey, there's still no post on Sundays in the modern world, so he'll be relieved about that.
The evidence of Vernon's weird parallel with Taylor Swift can be found at the beginning of Philosopher's Stone, where he's driving around trying to flee the massive influx of Hogwarts letters that are trying to reach to Harry:
The passage reads: "They drove. And they drove. Even Aunt Petunia didn't dare ask where they were going. Every now and then Uncle Vernon would take a sharp turn and drive in the opposite direction for a while. "Shake 'em off... shake 'em off," he would mutter whenever he did this."
So, either Uncle Vernon was a time-travelling muggle with a double life as an undercover Swiftie, or Taylor Swift was subconsciously inspired by this passage when she wrote her hit song. Or, you know, it could all just be a massive coincidence, which is exactly what Uncle Vernon would *want* us to believe.
