Sometimes we get so angry about a fictional death we have to turn off the TV, close our book, slam our laptop screen shut and take a time-out of at least 15 minutes to wrap our heads around the tragedy.
Although we can admit that *some* fictional deaths are necessary to plot (yada yada yada), there are plenty of instances where we feel personally attacked by a death that was, in our mind, completely unnecessary.
1. Jack Dawson in Titanic
Rose could've shifted up a bit; even Kate Winslet agrees.
2. Remus Lupin in Harry Potter
The last remaining marauder? Really JK Rowling?
3. Marley in Marley and Me
Because we refuse to watch this film ever again.
4. Leslie in Bridge to Terabithia
NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION.
5. Fred Weasley in Harry Potter
Taking George's twin away is an act of pure evil.
6. Augustus Waters in The Fault in Our Stars
Shall we not.
7. Rue in The Hunger Games
Because she deserved so much better.
8. Mufassa in The Lion King
The most emotional moment of our entire childhood.
9. Thomas in My Girl
Because he can't see without his glasses :(
10. Ellie in Up
The animation that inspired a thousand tears.
11. Gwen in The Amazing Spiderman 2
What even was this about? WHY did this happen?
