Josh Hutcherson talks Peeta in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: 'I'm nervous - I've never gone crazy in a movie before'

Ok, so The Hunger Games: Catching Fire might not even be out yet, but is it really a crime to already be re-reading and getting excited about Mockingjay? Well, we are pretty impatient and it REALLY doesn't help that Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson’s have been talking about the changes Gale and Peeta’s go through in the third book.

And before you get any ideas, no we don't mean changes in the birds and the bees, puberty sense. We mean Peeta going batshit crazy and Gale turning into a right old rebel.

Chatting away at the Catching Fire press conference in London this week, Hemmo said he was definitely looking forward to portraying Gale when he gets all dark and broody in Mockingjay. Granted that might be because he'll finally get more than two minutes screen time, but still.

“I mean Gale has [got more manly] – the majority of his stuff is in the third book and it’s when you get to see him standing up to it all," Liam said. "You know, you see bits and pieces of it through the first two [books], of how passionate he is about it, and he gets to sink his teeth in in the third one.”

Oh, a fesity one you are. Sign us up for tickets pronto, although if you ask us, the movie adaptation really should involve him going all Hulk and ripping his top off too. Just an idea.

We digress.

Josh is also quite excited about Peeta’s changes, adding: “I’ve always thought that the arc that Peeta takes is really incredible throughout the whole book series.

"From the beginning he’s such a vulnerable young lad, and into the literally tortured, inflicted kind of PTSD-suffering person that he becomes in the third book is kind of incredible. It’s something I’m excited about”.

Err YEAH, we can't wait to see you unleash the inner cray cray.

He has got some pre-film jitters though, adding: “I’m nervous about portaying it ‘cause I’ve never gone crazy before in a movie. Real life many times, but never in a movie before, so I’m definitely excited about it for sure.”

Crikey, we’re not sure we can handle a feisty Hemmo AND a coco-loco Hutchy. Let’s be honest, Josh will most probably portray Peeta in usual AWESOME fashion, and if he doesn’t…well. We’ll only be staring at his gorge face anyway.

Are you already excited for Mockingjay? Were you a fan of the book? Reckon the boys will do a good job? Let us know in the box below please…
