In news that will immediately have you clearing a space on your bookshelf, Gemma Cairney has announced that she is publishing a colourful, honest, and quite frankly NECESSARY book to help us all navigate young adult life.
The book, called Open: A Tool-kit for how Magic and Messed-Up Life Can Be details everything from mental health to body image to first love, with Gemma sharing her best advice on how to work your way through the emotional journey of adulthood.
Sharing that she hopes the book will both empower and comfort young people, Gemma explained: "As a communicator who believes in approaching life with an open heart and opening up big and important conversations, to write this book is a dream come true."
"This will be a life-resource book, a toolkit of the big, brilliant, and bad stuff that happens to nearly all of us. Through personal insight, beautiful imagery and expert advice, I want to offer hope and a huge comforting cuddle to young people questioning what life's all about or dealing with hard times. Pan Macmillan shared my vision from the start, so I'm thrilled that they have opened their doors to me to be my publishing home."
Oh, and if you need any further reason to part with your cash, Annie Mac tells us: "This book is perfect for Gemma Cairney - she is warm, witty, huge hearted; the perfect confidante and the perfect story teller. What a great idea this book is!"
