This week, fangirls across the world rejoiced at the news that one of their own kind had transitioned from ordinary distant admirer to ACTUAL GIRLFRIEND of her fave, when Disney star Jake T. Austin revealed he's now dating a fan who was super obsessed with him.
Jake's all kinds of loved up with Danielle Ceasar these days, who spent the past five years casually bombarding bae with tweets, and proving that sometimes dreams really do come true for normal people. Goals.
Danielle's not the only fangirl who's managed it either, and it turns out that celebs marrying or dating their biggest fans isn't exactly all that rare. Here's ten examples to give you ALL THE HOPE.
1. Posh and Becks
David Beckham had ALWAYS fancied Victoria ever since he first saw her with the Spice Girls. Yep, it was actually him who was the fangirl in this relationship, and when he finally met her after a Manchester United game in 1997, he fell even more in lurve. Their family is now casually worth about half a billion pounds.
2. Josh Cuthbert and Chloe Lloyd
Before becoming a model, Chloe spent her teenage days as the ULTIMATE fan girl obsessing
over McFly, before getting extra close to Dougie and other boybanders like Nathan
Sykes and Jake Roche. Eventually she met Union J's Josh Cuthbert to become the universe's most beautiful couple, and he even popped the question last year. CUTE.
3. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose
Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa used to be obsessed with each other before their relationship began. She'd always say how much of a fan she was of his music, and he once gave her name in an interview when asked who he'd choose to date out of any celeb lady. They finally met through Twitter (goals), before having a son and getting married back in 2013. They're now split up, but still.
4. Dougie Poynter and Frankie Sandford
Ever since McFly were first a thing, Dougie would forever name-drop The Saturdays' Frankie as his ultimate celebrity crush, admitting he had posters of her all over the place and described her as his ideal woman in numerous interviews. After first getting together in 2008, they ended up dating for a couple of years before Doug was left heartbroken by their split. WE STILL MISS THEM SOB SOB.
5. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kanye has never shut up about his long-term crush on Kim which started way back in her celebrity styling days. He's basically loved her since day one and even used to write songs about it, and as soon as Kris Humphries was outta the picture, Kanye swooped in to take his rightful position. They're now married with two kids and basically ruling the entire world togehter.
6. Josh Duhamel and Fergie
In a 2004 interview with InStyle mag, Josh was quoted saying Fergie was his ultimate celebrity crush and that he has recurring dreams about her (even though he was engaged to someone else, awks). The pair later met on the set of his show Las Vegas, and Fergie asked Josh if his "dream was good", ahem. They were married in 2009.
7. Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso
These two are actually the stuff of fan fiction classics, as Matt and Lucianna began dating when she helped him escape a group of crazy autograph-hunting fangirls in Miami. They fell in love straight away, got married in 2005 and have been together ever since. Someone get that on Wattpad RIGHT NOW.
8. Luke Hemmings and Arzaylea
No one really seems to know for sure just how 5SOS's Luke actually met his girlfriend Arzaylea, but legend according to tumblr reckons that she started out as just a big fan of him the band, before finally being spotted by Hemmo, earning a follow on Instagram and eventually working her way into the inner 5SOS circle. Teach us your ways, gurl.
9. Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink
Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey first met his wife Jillian Fink when he booked an appointment to have his hair cut at her salon. She didn't exactly play it cool, but instead spilled to him just how much she loved his acting, and the pair tied the knot back in 1999. They sadly split last year, but are rumoured to be giving their relationship another go behind the scenes.
10. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Katie used to be Tom's biggest fan before she rose to fame with Dawson's Creek, admitting in interviews that she'd had posters of him all over her walls as a teenager and just how much she'd always wanted to marry him. That's exactly what she did in 2006 before giving birth to their daughter, Suri. Suuure they're divorced now, but they were still goals for a while.
See, there's always hope.
