2016 got off to a terrible start, after legend of the stage and screen Alan Rickman passed away aged just 69.
Tributes poured in from fans and colleagues alike, with the Harry Potter cast sharing all kinds of touching messages and memories of the man they worked alongside for up to a decade.
Now Emma Thompson - whose statement on the day of his death bought actual tears to our eyes - has dedicated an award to her late friend, and it'll make you feel sad all over again.
Accepting an Evening Standard British Film Award for Comedy, for her role in The Legend of Barney Thomson, Emma said: "I'd like to commit this moment in time to dearest Alan Rickman who many of us are dearly missing tonight. It's so depressing but there it is, it does happen."
Hear, hear. He will be sadly missed - always.
