Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler are said to be under investigation for 'damaging natural surfaces', after they carved their names into a rock during a Valentine's Day trip to Arizona. Say whaaaat?
Vanessa has since deleted her pic of the rock inscribed with the words Vanessa + Austin - but according to TMZ, the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest are now investigating as to whether the rock is in the forest.
The issue? There's a federal law which forbids anyone from "damaging natural surfaces or property of the United States", and if the rock WAS in a National Forest... well, that means it belongs to the ol' U.S. of A. Sheesh.
If found guilty of such a crime the maximum punishment is six months in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. So that's actually kinda intense.
Looks like V and Austin could be stuck between a rock and a hard place. Sorry sorrry sorrrrrrry couldn't resist a little dad joke. We'll go now.
