OI OI, you lot - Cybersmile here. By now y'all know that we're all about promoting a bit of positivity online and celebrating those celeb-types who do the say on the regular. So it's about dang time we announced a shiny new Cybersmiler of the Month, right?
Yup - in the past our pals we've chucked a whole loada love in the direction of everyone from Justin Bieber to Kendall Jenner thanks to their social media shenanigans; and this time we're turning our attention to Zendaya after she reacted so graciously to Twitter trolls *and* the media slating her appearance. YAAAS.
In true #Cybersmiler form, Zendaya refused to rise to the haters and instead released a public statement offering those experiencing similar situations some advice. She said: "Studies have shown that even though we try to act without prejudice, sometimes it's just hidden inside us due to our past or surroundings. That hidden prejudice is often influential in our actions. It's our job to spot these issues within others and ourselves and destroy them before they become hurtful.
"I have so many people looking up to me, that I couldn't be scared, wait it out, nor could I just stand up for me; I had to do it for WE."
Zendaya's also opened up about her experiences with school bullies in the past, telling New You magazine: "I was taught as a young child by my parents and family to love myself, and it's the same today - there are certain things that don't bother me. I just focus on being a good person."
And that's all you can do, innit? Focus on yourself, take a leaf out of Zendaya's book and promote some positivity online?
Who do you think's been awesome online this month, eh?
