Speaking about when she first realised the importance of social media, Kim told Extra in 2018, "I'll never forget it. I was in Mexico and Ryan Seacrest emailed me and said, 'You have to get on Twitter.' And I was like, 'What is Twitter?' So I signed up, and I was really indecisive about a perfume bottle, about which colour pink it should be. So I tweeted a picture of two colour pinks so I tweeted a picture and said, 'You guys, I can't decide. What colour should I use?' And I used the one I got the most response from. And that's when I realised, 'OK, I can use this at the best focus group and really connect with people.'"
