As Kesha's lawsuit against Dr Luke continues, her lawyer has reportedly appealed against a court ruling that denied her an exit from her recording contract with the producer and her alleged sex attacker.
So now that Sony Music have broken their silence, Dr Luke's lawyers have released a statement addressing Kesha's rape allegations as 'outright lies' and the #FreeKesha movement continues on Twitter, Kesha has now filed paperwork to appeal the decision that she must stay in her contract.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kesha's attorney Mark Geragos compared the singer being tied to her recording contract to slavery, writing in the court papers: "Plaintiff seeks reversal of the Order on the following grounds.
"First, the Court erred in basing its decision on its finding that Kesha could record without interference from Gottwald [Dr Luke's real name being Lukasz Gottwald].
"Although it recognised that 'slavery was done away with a long time ago' and that '[y]ou can't force someone to work … in a situation in which they don't want to work,' the Court's ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald's companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that."
All this comes as Dr. Luke outright denied Kesha's allegations of sexual abuse, taking to Twitter to write: "I didn't rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister.
"Imagine if you or somebody you loved was publicly accused of a rape you knew they didn't do. Imagine that."
Thoughts on this at the usual place.
