Lea Michele has revealed this afternoon that, as the third anniversary of his tragic death approaches, she's decided to pay tribute to late boyfriend Cory Monteith in the most permanent way possible.
She's had a new tattoo inked especially in his memory, and Lea took to Instagram to reveal to fans that the teeny tiny but perfect tribute was also designed with Finn Hudson, Cory's Glee character, in mind.
Lea actually had two tatts added to her collection yesterday – both inked to honour people that were dear to her. The first was a cute small coffee cup on her ring finger dedicated to her beloved grandmother who passed away earlier this week.
But it was the second tattoo reveal which broke fans' hearts all over again, as Lea posted a peek of her latest heartfelt tribute to Cory, poignantly captioned: "And one more… for my Quarterback #5".
Any Glee fan will remember that Cory's character Finn Hudson was the quarterback of the McKinley Titans football team, and wore the number 5 on his jersey in numerous episodes. Even Cory's special episode of Glee written in his memory was entitled 'The Quarterback', so it all links together in a pretty lovely way.
Lea was Cory's on and offscreen girlfriend at the time of his sudden and unexpected death back in 2013, and has since honoured his life in all sorts of moving ways – but getting a tattoo for him must be one of the biggest of all.
