This week, Kylie Jenner sat down for a chat with Marie Claire for its third annual Fresh Faces issue, which sounds pretty harmless and like it'd be a good time all round - but one of her quotes from the interview has basically had the internet collectively laughing at her. Oopsies.
It kinda sounds like Kylizzle is saying that she's responsible for any humans that wear wigs, which is a bit awkward when you remember that folks like Marie Antoinette and George Washington have existed several centuries ago.
"I started wigs, and now everyone is wearing wigs," Kylie said in the brand new magazine interview, speaking about her crazy influence online. "Kim [Kardashian] just used my wig guy last night...I just do whatever I want to do, and people will follow."
Oh wiggin' 'ell Kylie.
Of course, it's pretty likely that Kylie was actually just referring to the current trend amongst celebs (mainly just people with the surnames Kardashian and Jenner, really) of rocking wigs to red carpet events, but nevertheless fans have been accusing her of cultural appropriation and branding her comment as ignorant either way.
We're also pretty sure that the likes of Cleopatra, Cher, various actors and actresses, black women throughout history, Lady Gaga, Juan Direction, Hannah Montana and various Elizabethans might also have a bit of an issue with Kylie's claims. But there you go.
However, in Kylie's defence, it looks as though she reckons she's been misquoted slightly in the interview, as she took to Twitter almost as soon as the full story hit the internet to speak about "when publications switch up your words".
Potentially not Kylie's finest hour.
What do you reckon to all of this craziness? Think Kylie's words might have been twisted a l'il, or did she just make a mistake? Let us know with at tweet to @Sugarscape.
