Just when you thought Instagram couldn't get any more addictive, they've gone and announced some pretty big news today by rolling out a brand new look for their Explore page. WOO, more thumb-scrolling potential.
The tab, which you've probs used in the past to scroll through endless pretty pics for follow inspo, will now also feature video channels, meaning that your Insta experience is about to become even more interactive. Wah wah wee wah.
Apparently people are now sharing more and more videos on Instagram than ever before, so the big bosses reckon that it only makes sense to help users discover more channels that they'll love.
To begin, you'll find a personalised channel called 'Videos You Might Like', which is pretty much what it says on the tin – a collection of vids from across the whole of Instagram merged into a "seamless viewing experience", according to the Insta team.
As you scroll further through the Explore grid, you might also see a selection of 'featured' channels, filled with videos on specific topics. For example right now, there's one dedicated to helping you experience the best bits of Coachella, even if you're at home on the sofa.
For anyone who HATES CHANGE AGH YUCK NO THNX, don't worry too much. The change isn't very drastic – it just connects you to posts about your interests from people you don't follow yet, which can only be a good thing.
And it's worth remembering that this fancy new algorithm stuff just means that the more you hit the like button, the better your Explore experience gets as it adjusts and focuses more on your preferences. Plus, it's not ventured onto your primary Instafeed quite yet.
ACE. Excited to see what you discover with the new Explore video feature? Let us know with a tweet to @Sugarscape.
