Blake Lively has landed herself in biiig trouble this week, with a controversial Instagram caption for a photo showing off her latest look from the Cannes red carpet. One side of the pic featured her oh so gorgey face, and the other showed off her bum in a slinky gold dress.
Underneath the matching snaps, Blake wrote that she had an "LA face with an Oakland booty" and people are NOT happy about it, with critics calling her comment 'racially insensitive' and 'passively racist'.
For anyone who might be sliiiightly confused, Blake's shout out to 'an Oakland booty' is a reference to the Bay Area city of Oakland, which has a traditionally sizeable POC population and a working-class background.
It's pretty likely that Blake's Instagram caption inspo to describe her buuuhhhttt probably came from Sir Mix-A-Lot's anthem 'Baby Got Back', which features the exact same words in its lyrics that we all know off by heart.
But tons of fans who spotted Blake's caption were seriously unhappy with it and consider it to be in poor taste, arguing that it's insensitive to present Los Angeles and elegance and beauty, while presenting Oakland as the opposite.
This isn't the first time that Blake's been called out over racism, either. Back in 2012 she got married to Ryan Reynolds on an ex-slave plantation which, funnily enough, people thought was kind of a crappy thing to do.
