Yesterday, vibes from the celeb world were all kinds of sad when it was announced that, after just 15 months of marriage, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are divorcing on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.
Having shocked everyone with the news (along with the fact that there's no pre-nup in place, gulp), Johnny has now released a statement to give his verdict on the whole thing, which has come at a pretty terrible time for him.
In a statement released on Johnny's behalf, a spokesperson said: "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.
"Hopefully, the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."
Amber, who's an actress in her own right, has filed for divorce from JD at Los Angeles Superior Court. According to reports from TMZ, she's also seeking "spousal support" from Johnny, who's now hired one of Hollywood's top divorce lawyers seeing as there was no pre-nup in place for their marriage.
This couldn't really have come at a worse time for Johnny. With Amber citing last Sunday as the official date of their split, the breakup comes just days after the death of his mum who passed away on May 20th following a long illness.
Crikey. Not the happiest news in the world, really.
