Oh we bloody love our jobs. Aside from Barry from IT assuming our Little Mix karaoke choice is meant as a duet (it's not) and Miranda from accounts attempting to talk to us about One Direction (please don't), it's a pretty sweet 9-5 to have.
Especially this week, after we were invited for afternoon tea with actual Kourtney Kardashian of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and all round mega babe fame to talk all things manuka honey.
Yup, after she announced a partnership with Manuka Doctor and their uhMAZING range of beauty and skincare products, a press event was arranged to get the word out and give Kourtney a warm welcome to the UK.
And as you can imagine, seeing a Kardashian in the flesh is pretty AKJDASLFJSLJKL. But what actually went down, then? How does it feel to share ~air~ with a proper A-lister? How does she act IRL? We've got all the answers, pals.
So, what actually was the event?
Kourtney and co took over a suite at The London EDITION hotel to host an afternoon tea around a long table - and when we'd looked up from our finger sandwiches, brownies and cake long enough to appreciate the surroundings, it was actually pretty beaut. We're talking lots of flowers, an open airy room and lots of food.
Who was there?
The event saw 15 or so beauty journalists from different publications sitting on a table around Kourtney in the middle, chatting all things beauty. There was also a big honcho from Manuka Doctor and their PR company Pegasus, to make sure erryone was happy chaps and it all ran smoothly.
What was Kourtney like IRL?
SO LOVELY. Down to earth. Funny. Cute. Chatty. The list goes on: she was everything you see on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and more, and we felt weirdly at ease as soon as she walked into the room. She didn't have a big celebrity persona; Kourtney was endearing, relatable and such a babe. Can we be her best friend now?
Did she give you any selfie tips (asking the important questions, people)
When it came to selfies, Kourtney's tip is a total gamechanger: take them on snapchat, use a face filter and save them to your camera role. She likes the face-smoother, we're fans of the double dog. Just saying.
What did you talk about?
So once we'd done introductions (not that Kourtney Bae needed one), she discussed her collaboration with Manuka Doctor and all her favourite products. She uses the oil for her dry eyelids, the moisturiser as a mask once a week and the lip gloss as a plumper - and oh GAHD was she glowing.
We also were given the opportunity to ask a question each, which is when conversation turned to avocado pudding, getting glowy skin and flying to the moon. Yes really.
Basically, she was *even* cuter/cooler/babein' in real like than we ever could have imagined, and if Manuka Doctor's products are what's making her tick? We'll take one of everything.
