Following the horrific murder of young musician Christina Grimmie on Friday night, Maroon 5's Adam Levine has offered to front the costs of her funeral, having acted as her mentor on season six of The Voice US.
Christina's brother Marcus took to Facebook to announce Adam's lovely gesture, revealing that he'd privately been in touch with the family to assure them that he'd pay any expenses needed by her loved ones after her tragic death.
Announcing Adam's kind offer on Sunday, Marcus wrote: "I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away."
After hearing the devastating news of the shooting, Adam shared his condolences on Twitter, having worked closely with Christina to not only help build her career as a musician, but to also become a great friend.
"Behati and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie's death," he wrote. "Our hearts go out to her family. Christina was a natural, gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon."
While Adam's gesture taken away the financial worries of Christina's death for her family, Marcus added that a fundraising campaign started by her manager for fans to contribute to has also raised a substantial amount of money, too.
"Now a friend just told me to look at the gofundme page and I see it is at 100k," he added. "Words cannot express... Literally I have no words." he added.
