Following the scary #SaveMariaJoyce trend that has been number one worldwide for over 24 hours amid fears YouTuber Marina Rose Joyce's life is at risk, her mum has spoken out to assure fans she's safe and well.
If you've been near the internet today you're probably aware that fans and normal folk alike have been worrying for Marina Joyce after they spotted a number of assumed 'signs' in her YouTube videos which hint at her safety.
Theories ranging from a kidnapping to an abusive relationship have been doing the rounds on social media, but her mother Cheryl Joyce has spoken out to assure the internet of her daughter's well-being.
She told the MailOnline:
"'Police have visited and they've seen her and she's fine and well. The gun is a toy gun, one of those BB guns – I've got other children. She's just done a live stream to fans to show she's all right. As for the bruising, we all bruise easily. There's no abusive relationship. It was me speaking in the video. I was filming for her and I whispered 'stand LIKE me' not 'help me'. She's only young, I'm a good mum and I look after her very well. Marina takes things in her stride and she's fine. It's not a publicity stunt, not at all, and I don't think it looks like one. Police have put out their own statement and things are now settling down. We're a private family really, this all just turned into a frenzy."
Cheryl added that she's not at all pushy and doesn't usually 'get involved' in her daughter's videos, she just helped her out 'just once' as Marina was modelling clothes.
Whether or not this quenches all your questions about Marina and the #SaveMariaJoyce trend is up to you, but maybe now we can all rest assured that she is alive, well and being looked after by her family.
