Robert Pattinson might not have made a public statement about those pictures of girlfriend Kristen Stewart enjoying some steamy snogs with director Rupert Sanders, but after hearing the heartbreaking things he had to say the day before the news came out, we'd imagine that calling him surprised would be one hell of an understatement.
Although Kristen and Rupert have both made public apologies about the kissing, Rob has been completely silent over the whole thing. Possibly because only the day before he'd been telling the press how great things were during a promo session for Breaking Dawn Part 2.
"No, I've never been betrayed by people who are actually in my life, like my friends or even my acquaintances," Rob reportedly told the press.
"No one has ever done anything."
Well that's a trifle awkward, now isn't it?
It sounds like Rob won't be too pleased about the speculation over things since Kristen and Rupe said sorry either as apparently the pressure of being in the public eye is something he really hates having to deal with.
"I wish [Twilight] had happened 12 years ago, before camera phones and website TMZ. Then it would have been amazing," he explained.
“Being a successful actor... if you just had the good side of fame it would have been unbelievable.
“Now actors are the most conservative people in the world because you can’t do anything. Literally... you can’t do anything at all. You can’t trust anyone because it all becomes part of your career."
Yeah, you can't even snog randomers in a car without some nosey parker publishing the snaps in a magazine. Erm..
