After rumours that One Direction's Liam Payne and his dancer girlfriend Danielle Peazer had broken up; even more rumours that Liam had gone on dates with long-time crush Leona Lewis; and watching Alan Carr only ask Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik about their girlfriends on Chattyman, the end of Payzer seemed very real.
Now, for the first time, Liam has spoken about the split, saying that he wants to stay in touch with Danielle.
"Danielle is great. I really hope we can still be friends," he told The Sun.
"I bought her a car for her birthday, but she really isn’t fussed by money or fame."
"The only person I really worry about is Zayn," he went on.
"Because I don’t think he’s quite accustomed to all of this. He’s had a terrible time on Twitter, as did Danielle,”
“I don’t think he’s quite adjusted to it yet, I’m sure he’ll get it. He’s my best mate. I’ve got to look out for him.
“It’s mad to think I didn’t know them two years ago and now they’re my best mates.”
So there we have it, the Liam and Danielle split is official. It makes our hearts weep, but they're two of the most sensible and lovely people on the planet, so we're sure they'll be able to remain friends and not have any dramatic Twitter spats or Jeremy Kyle-esque incidents.
Sniffle. At least we've always got Liam doing his Gary Barlow impression to cheer us up;
