Poor Peter Andre is said to be inconsolable today, after his brother Andrew lost his fight with kidney cancer.
54 year old Andrew has been battling the disease since last year after complaning of stomach pains - and while he had been responding well to treatment, the last month saw his condition deteriorate.
After checking out of the London hospital where he had been recieving care, Andrew - who leaves behind a wife and a daughter - passed away at home, with his family by his side.
The entire family are understandably devastated, and Peter's spokeswoman told The Sun: “Pete just can’t speak at the moment.
“Everyone was at Andrew’s side — his wife, daughter, Pete and their parents — the whole family.
“Andrew woke up, looked around at everyone to say goodbye, and then fell asleep. He passed away in his sleep. It was very peaceful.
“This is the first member of Pete’s immediate family to pass away and he is obviously devastated. The whole family is in shock and need time and privacy to grieve.”
Speaking about the hosiptal who had been treating Andrew, the spokeswoman added: “They did everything they possibly could to help Andrew.
“It has all happened so quickly. This time last year he just thought he had a tummy ache. It’s terrible.”
Celeb pals of Pete, including Emma Bunton, Kerry Katona and Michelle Heaton all took to twitter to express their sadness at the news, and to offer their condolances.
Our thoughts are with the Andre family.
