So as you may or may not be aware, Miley Cyrus gave a beautifully-understated, low-key performance at the MTV VMAs over the weekend alongside Robin Thicke. Think Adele singing Someone Like You at the BRITs but even more heart-wrenching. Anyway - for some reason Miley's We Can't Stop/Blurred Lines performance rubbed a certain Kelly Clarkson up the wrong way, with her taking to Twitter to brand her a 'pitchy stripper'. Ooh er.
And do you know who ain't happy about Clarko's cutting comments? Miley's best friend
Lesley Cheyne Thomas, who turned his social media sass switch to maximum we he took a not-so-subtle swipe at Kelly.
K-Clarkz originally tweeted: "Just saw a couple performances from the VMA's last night. 2 words.... #pitchystrippers" [sic], rivalling Dappy's '#fish' in the hashtag-as-insult stakes. And while Miles was too busy getting to grips with a foam finger to comment, her mates took it into their own non-foamy hands. Pal Dominic Riccitello tweeted: "Kelly Clarkson called Miley a pitchy stripper. Do you think she's mad because her last few singles flopped and she wasn't asked to perform." OOF.
And that wasn't it. BFF Cheyne then piped up in response, saying: "@DominicScott and she's fat and 30...the reasons Kelly Clarkson is bitter could really go on for a day.." [sic].
Gah. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, Kelly babes.
What do you think, then? Are you #TeamMiley or #TeamKelly (or #TeamFish)? Wondering what Lesley makes of all this? Comments please...
