A smoky eye is one of those make-up staple looks that everyone should be able to master. It works for pretty much every occasion, and can be dressed up or down to suit your mood.
HOWEVER, in the past we've found it a bit tricky, so our mates at Bellapierre have only gone and launched a Smoky Eye Kit, including everything you need to create the look including all the shades, make up base and professional brushes.
Their tips to create this look are pretty adaptable, and we used our 5-shadow Smokey Heaven palette that we already had in the office, which did the trick perfectly too. They suggest to get to work as follows:
Prepare the lid:
Start with the Bellapierre make up base (also known as the primer - we just used our regular primer for this and it worked a treat). Apply to entire upper lid from lash line to brow and as needed a small amount below the lower lash line.
Using the Noir Shimmer powder with a dampened eyeliner brush, apply a coating of the noir alongside the upper and lower lash lines.
Apply highlight colour:
Using an eyeshadow brush apply the snowflake shimmer to the upper brow bone. Apply the Tin Man shimmer to the eyelid blending upwards.
Apply light base colour:
Again, the key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker blue. Apply the Tin Man shimmer to the eyelid blending upwards. Blend in darker colours, but keep the dark colour below the crease.
Now that you have the highlighter, base and eyeliner on, it’s time to get on the smoky eyes look. You need a darker eyeshadow shade; using an eyeshadow brush blend in the Noir shimmer starting at your lash line, create a V shape on the outer corner of the eyelid blending up. Make sure to blend colour into the lash line so the eye liner disappears - et voila.
Now go out and show off your eyes to the world!
