All the news for the BRITs 2014: Global live streaming, Twitter voting, the new statue, YouTubers and loads more

It’s less than three weeks until the best night of the year, otherwise known as the BRIT Awards, AWOO. On 19th Feb, all our favourite famous faces will be descending on London’s O2 Arena for the biggest night in pop music, and we could not be more excited.

Well, we didn’t think we could be, but that was before we’d seen all the latest details to be released about the awards, including global live streaming, new awards, and a few of our favourite YouTubers. And as an extra bonus, they've also unveiled the sparkly new statue designed by Philip Treacy. OOH and AHH.

Taking this one thing at a time so we don’t have too much of an overexcited heart attack, for the first time ever, the show will be being broadcast on YouTube, meaning that fans outside the UK will be able to wrap their peepers around all the BRITs action.

There’s already confirmed performances from Arctic Monkeys, Katy Perry, Bastille, Lorde and Disclosure, so we’re guessing there’s gonna be a fair few people across the world tuning in to see it all.

The second exciting bit of goss is that not only can everyone watch the partay, but we can all join in too, thanks to the introduction of the brand new Social Vote Award for British Video. Viewers will be voting through the broadcast via Twitter, with nominees decided based on YouTube views, and the winner announced at the end of the show.

We have a feeling this one might be 1D shaped... Call it a hunch, yeah?

Dan and Phil

Things have all gone a bit YouTube crazy over at the BRITs, as not only can we watch the whole thing on the web, but some of the stars of our subscription boxes including Fleur De Force, and Dan and Phil, will be heading over to the red carpet to do a bit of schmoozing with the celebs.

And as a final bonus, all the performances from the night will be available for download after the show, with all proceeds going straight to War Child and the BRIT Trust. Awesome sauce, eh?

Excited for the arrival of the BRITs 2014? Reckon they might have a few more surprises up their sleeve? Leave us a comment and let us know.
