As if Simon Cowell didn't make enough changes to the last series of The X Factor, what with new judges, new hosts and new Xtra Factor hosts to name but just a few, it's now being claimed that Dermot O'Leary could return to present the show once again.
It won't be great news for Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, who hosted the 2015 series, if these reports are true, although we can only hope that SiCo actually decides to put two and one together and make a presenting threesome extraordinaire.
According to reports, bosses have secretly reached out to Dermot through his agent to see if he would consider a return to The X Factor.
It is thought, though, that Dermot, who now presents the Getaway Car on BBC One, will 'carefully weigh up his options' before deciding what he wants to do.
A TV insider told The Sun: "There has been a quiet approach via his management company.
"He's got more offers than he has ever had in his career at the moment, but
he isn't on an exclusive contract with the BBC and would definitely
love to work with ITV. For him the decision will probably come down to
"A show like The X Factor is a massive commitment and he wants to be able to continue making documentaries about more serious subjects as well."
Bosses are also apparently planning more shake-ups for the show, including potential judging panel changes, although a source close to Simon says his focus is actually on Britain's Got Talent right now.
Strap yourselves in, this is going to be a bumpy ride.
