After a dramatic week of X Factor gossip filled with Caroline Flack and Olly Murs getting the sack and Dermot O'Leary apparently being told to 'name his price' to return to the show, Nick Grimshaw has opened up about his decision to quit the show.
After initially claiming he had no "bad blood" towards the X Factor and how felt like it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, the Radio 1 DJ fella has now revealed he didn't consult other judges Rita Ora and Chezza Fernandez-Versini about his decision.
Speaking to The Sun on the BRIT Awards red carpet (more about that here, yo), Nick was asked whether he'd confided in either of them about his decision.
"I didn't actually", Grimmy said. "I spoke to them afterwards but not at the time. I'd already decided before I spoke to them."
Asked about whether he thought Louis Tomlinson (YAAAAAS TOMMO YAAS) or Louis Walsh would take on the male mentoring role, he added: "Sellotape them both together and have double Louis." Er, maybs not but it's a nice thought.
All this comes as Louis Tomlinson confirms he's keen to take on the role, also telling The Sun on the BRITs red carpet: "Of course, it's really exciting. We've had no official conversation yet. But yeah, I mean, why wouldn't I?"
So there you go. Whaddaya reckon? Let us know if you think Nick made the right decision/Luigi would be the best man for the job @Sugarscape.
