When Making A Murderer hit up Netflix, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say we watched every episode back to back over the course of a weekend.
And a few months down the line, we're still as obsessed as we were the first time we watched it, which is why we let out a YELP of joy when it was revealed earlier this week that a Making A Murderer film adaptation might be in the works.
According to The Fargo, Billy Bob Thornton has been tipped to play Steven Avery in the film version, which tells the story of his murder trial and paints a picture about whether or not he is guilty of the crime he was charged with.
BoyleSports gave Billy Bob odds of 9/2 to be cast in the role, with Danny McBride off of This Is The End and Pineapple Express also in the running with 9/2 odds.
At this moment in time, Steven Avery continues to protest his innocence over the murder of Teresa Halbach, and the betting agent predict a motion picture surrounding the case could be released between now and 2020. OOOH.
Jeff Bridges, Daniel Day Lewis, John Travolta and Sean Penn have also been named as potentials for the main role, and we are so on board with a film version of Making A Murderer we kind of want to run down to the cinema now.
How about you? Who do you reckon would make a good Steven Avery? Discuss with us @Sugarscape.
