We hate to be the bearer of bad news (and this is really bad news), but WhatsApp might not be available on your phone this time next year after the big honchos over on the app revealed they'll be discontinuing it on some phones.
*PANIC ENSUES EVERYWHERE*
Yep, time to save all those pictures of cats you've been sending to your pals and rearrange all your group chats onto Facebook, as it's thought WhatsApp will no longer be available on multiple devices by the end of 2016.
If you own a Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1, Android 2.2 or a Windows Phone 7.1, you might wanna start morning the app's greatness as the messenger released a statement saying it won't be available in the near future.
They commented: "As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. So, by the end of 2016, we will be ending support for WhatsApp Messenger on some mobile platforms.
"While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.
"If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp."
So there you go. Does this affect you? Whaddaya reckon? Chat with us about this over on our Twitter or in the comment box below, y'all.
