A 17-year-old model has died after having her eyes gouged out and her ears hacked off in a jealous attack by her 'envious' older sister.
The murder of Stefania Dubrovina occurred in a flat in St Petersburg, Russia, where both she and her sister Elizaveta were visiting an unnamed 42-year-old man, who is reported to have been out of the room at the time of the attack.
Stefania was stabbed a horrifying 140 times, and Elizaveta is also said to have gouged her sister's eyes out, before hacking off her ears.
According to the Daily Mail, a police source told a Russian newspaper that the two had 'had a great party' with their photographer friend, but when he went out to get more alcohol, Elizaveta attacked.
A friend told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper that nobody is entirely sure whether Stefania's relations with the man were personal or professional: "It is not 100 per cent proved that she had romantic relations with his man. We are only sure that this man organised photo sessions for Stefania. She visited him a week before too."
The same source said that Elizaveta would always try to 'copy the image of her younger sister - the same hair colour, the same lipstick', and that though photographs show them hugging each other, "there is no doubt that the elder sister envied the younger one."
The girls themselves were both orphans, and 19-year-old Elizaveta is currently being detained on the charge of murder.
The girls' aunt Ekaterina Dubrovina said of the tragedy: "My blood turns to ice. These poor children are not guilty in their gruesome childhood and in all their unhappy life which unfortunately ended for Stefania".
