Let's be honest with each other for a sec because we're all friends here - at some point we've all hoped/wished/believed that unicorns are real. Right?
WELL HOLD ON TO YOUR
HORSES UNICORNS - because it turns out they actually are (!!!), thanks to a newly discovered skull fossil.
Yes, we give you permission to 'squeeeeeeeeeee' in excitement: after all, what could be more magical that a glorified horse with a horn stuck to its head?
It would also appear that the unicorn isn't quite as.... aesthetically pleasing as pics like the one above would have us believe.
In fact, the remains of the Siberian unicorn that scientists have just unearthed in the Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan actually suggest it looked something like this:
The "Elasmotherium sibiricum" is thought to have roamed the planet around 29,000 years ago and JESUS it's not exactly screaming 'put me on a jumper' or 'make slippers that look like my face', is it?
The new findings, published in the American Journal of Applied Sciences, also revealed that these unicorns were approx six feet tall and 15 feet long - P.S. that is a hell of a lot larger than your average horse.
So yeah, there you go - unicorns were real, but they were also slightly terrifying, and basically rhinos with hair. Sorry, Charlie.
