When Snapchat updated its chat function earlier this week we all let out a little yelp of joy, because initially all the fancy new features looked like they might revolutionise our lives for the better.
But it turns out that might not necessarily be the case, after users were quick to note that the new software actually opens up the scope for personal details to be leaked to other users through the new call function.
So the positives for the update come in the shape of new emojis, the ability to type in bold, italic and underlined, and to share videos and photos through the chat function.
The bad part? There's also a call function, which means your number is immediately available to anyone on Snapchat to phone you whenever they desire, even if they didn't have your contact details before.
Pretty scary, huh? To stop people having access to your phone number and having the ability to call you is simple: Go to Settings > Mobile Number > Turn off Let others find me using my mobile number.
For all the famous types, you can also switch it off so people you have only connected with can contact you, rather than all of your followers.
To do this, go to Settings > Contact me > My Friends.
So there you go.
