If you were a huge fan of the 2000 film The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, we've got some great news to deliver, because a brand new animation is being created for a retelling of the story. WAHOO.
The film is scheduled for release at the end of next year, and its recently been announced that the man following in Jim Carey's footsteps is none other than Benedict Cumberbatch, which is actually a pretty good choice, wouldn't you say?
The CEO of Illumination Entertainment said of the decision: "We were determined to make a [casting] choice that would not only define this version of The Grinch as absolutely singular, but most importantly, we were looking for a voice to express comedic wickedness while embodying vulnerability."
"It is that vulnerability that allows us to create a character that is not only highly entertaining, but also has an irresistible appeal."
RIGHT. Now we just have to sit tight and patiently wait for November 2017 to roll around.
