BIG NEWS EVERYONE: Snapchat has just surpassed Instagram as the "most important social network" among teens, toppling Instagram right off the top spot.
The new information comes from a report by Piper Jaffray which surveyed 6500 US teens on their social media habits.
28% of the 14 to 19 year-olds surveyed named Snapchat as the most important service, closely followed by 27% who chose Instagram.
It might not sound like a big difference but Snapchat has surged in popularity this Spring, and when you compare it to last Autumn's figures (33% voting for Instagram, and 19% for Snapchat) it's clear that Snapchat is a growing platform.
Gene Munster, an analyst behind the study, said of the results: "In the mind of teens and their social lives, there is a clear division of Snapchat and Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and everyone else in social."
So it's official then. Would you lot agree Snapchat is more relevant than Insta?
