Charlotte Crosby has opened up about the heartbreaking situation which finally ended her relationship with Gaz Beadle, revealing that she suffered a devastating ectopic pregnancy after getting close to him again.
Charl's spoken about the experience of being pregnant with Gary's baby when the pair started dating again, admitting that the pain got so bad that she could barely walk, and had to be rushed to hospital for an emergency life-saving operation.
Speaking to heat magazine about the ordeal, Charlotte has revealed that what she thought was a "really bad period" actually turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy (when the fetus develops outside the womb), which she was left to face alone when Gaz flew off to film Ex On The Beach - and we all know what happened while he was there.
In the emotional interview, Charl said that it all started after she waited longer than 72 hours to take the morning after pill, following a night with Gaz earlier this year when they were the "closest they'd ever been".
Having been in unbearable pain on a photoshoot, Charlotte was rushed to hospital. "My urine sample came back and tested positive for being pregnant," she said. "It was [Gary's]. He's the only person I've slept with since January."
"I didn't know what the hell was going on and I was in so much pain," Charlotte spilled.
"Then the X-ray showed how much damage had been caused. Because I'd left it a week, it'd torn open my fallopian tube and I was bleeding internally. The doctor said: 'If you'd have left it any longer, you could have died.'"
Charlotte was left to go through the ectopic pregnancy alone while Gaz was away sleeping with Jemma Lucy for Ex on The Beach in Thailand, but when she finally managed to get hold of him on the phone, he was "so lovely" about it all.
"That's what I don't understand. I was really in love with him... He was saying stupid things like, "I'll make sure I have sex with you as much as I can to get you pregnant... That phonecall was my lifeline."
Of course, as we all know by now, it later emerged that Gaz hadn't been faithful to Charlotte while he was away, but it wasn't until six days after her dramatic operation that Charl learnt what he'd been up to.
Left "heartbroken", Charlotte admitted: "Gary's hurt me a lot in the past, but this was a whole different type of hurt...
"I can't believe a human can be so heartless. It was a wake up call. Everything I went through made me realise that I don't need him at all."
