For anyone who craves that Twitter blue-tick like they crave a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice-cream on a hot day, we've got news for celebration; because Twitter just made things a whole lot easier for anyone out there chasing the golden verification.
Providing you have some reason for wanting be verified, you can simply fill out a form online and apply for verification yourself. But, as always, there are a few snags - so we've decided to outline three steps below that'll speed the process up.
1. First of all, you're going to need to ensure that your profile is up-to-scratch on all your basic information. That means uploading a profile photo, your full name, a header photo, a bio, your birthday, a verified phone number, email address and website information.
2. After completing that absolute marathon of admin, you need to double-check that your tweets are set to public rather private in your privacy settings.
3. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and make your application. EXCITING. You'll then be asked a series of questions about why you deserve to have a verified account and what your influence in your specific field is. Oh, and you might also have to send over your passport or some other proof of ID before that blue tick lands on your profile.
Also, no worries if the email that lands in your inbox denies your request for a lovely blue-tick - you can always apply again after a window of 30 days. This is a visual on us rn:
