After what must have surely been one of the most confusing, mind-blowing and genuinely quite scary hashtags to ever hit Twitter, YouTuber Marina Joyce has officially spoken to press about the whole #savemarinajoyce thing.
Having already tried to reassure fans by hosting a live YouNow session (which cleared up approximately nothing), Marina spoke to The Sun late last night to insist that she's absolutely fine, and just can't quite believe how crazy things have become in the past 48 hours.
Amidst speculation of heavy drug use, abusive relationships, kidnapping and even terrorism conspiracies, Marina told The Sun: "The first I knew of it was when I saw the hashtag trending and people started to get worried."
"People really care about me and it went crazy and blew up. People out there are really kind.
"I care about my YouTube channel and after this I have got lots more viewers which is really good. But I am really OK. There are no ISIS terrorists here."
With Marina's behaviour in her most recent videos seeming erratic, confused, and dazed, and an array of bruises being clearly visible all over her body, fans spent almost two days attempting to uncover clues about what could have been going on.
While theories spiralled out of control and left her viewers terrified, Marina (and her family, who also spoke out yesterday) has been left overwhelmed by the way things have ended up.
"I just woke up one morning and and the hashtag #SaveMarinaJoyce was happening everywhere," she recalled. "It is incredible what people have done. They have helped my channel so much now.
"I now know that if I'm ever really in trouble or in danger then my YouTube viewers will be there for me. It is sad to waste police time but they clearly do care too."
Marina added: "I love my viewers caring so much for me. Because of them I will never be in danger. They all want me to be OK."
So that's that, then. Hmmm.
