Whilst our letter of acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry doesn't seem to be forthcoming, the potential to own an actual IRL invisibility cloak does - with the people over at Life Noggin predicting one might exist within our lifetime.

Seeing as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley probably owe a lot to the cloak throughout J.K. Rowling's fantasy world, what with it helping collect Horcruxes and overhear all the right conversations, owning one in the real world would be super useful.

Y'know, for important things (does listening in to people you fancy's conversations count as important? Asking for a friend).

"Believe it or not, scientists are getting kind of close to making these dreams come true", the video starts. "The key is distorting the way light bounces off an object. We're able to see things when light reaches our eyes. If we want to hide this apple, we just have to change the way that the light gets scattered off of it's surface."

It then gets super technical and science-y and we got a bit lost, and the more we consider the ethical side of things we're fairly sure an invisibility cloak would cause more harm than good. But still, what do you think?
