The days of a floppy-haired basketball vest wearing Zac Efron spontaenously bursting into song in High School Musical may be over - he may even have moved on to more serious films which involve Nicole Kidman pissing on his face - but you'll never hear him calling the Disney movie series sh*t, ok?

In fact, quite the opposite - because Zac has revealed in a new interview that he'll be forever grateful to HSM for giving allowing him to break into the world of showbiz.

Speaking to Flaunt magazine about the movie that launched his career, Zac said: "Here's the one thing about High School Musical that a lot of people forget or don't realise. It affected a lot of people; its resonance, culturally, was massive."

Pfff, you don't need to tell us that Zeffers, we've never been quite the same after we learnt every single word to 'Breaking Free'. IT TAUGHT US HOW TO FEEL.

"At the same time, it was in every sense of it, the luckiest break in the world," he continued, adding that he gets he right hump when people try to make him slag it off.

"The wrong thing to do - and that's what all these interviews now are trying to get me to say - is to turn on it, to like sh*t on it, call it crap. But that's insane."

"There are hundreds of people who began doing one thing when they were younger, who go on to develop and refine and shape their vision, as they get older, and other concerns - like fame, or money - take a back seat to other ones," he explained.

Very true. Look at Ryan Gosling for example - he began his acting career dancing around in The Mickey Mouse club, and now he's being all moody and amazing in flicks like Drive and The Place Beyond the Pines. Hashtag just saying.
