Brooklyn Beckham of usually angelic status has come under fire on social media today after sharing and deleting a photograph on Instagram which showed two children, one of which was holding a gun.
The black and white photograph was taken by the late American photographer Mary Ellen Mark, who originally took the photo for an 1983 essay for LIFE Magazine called 'Streets of the Lost'. The series aimed to capture the homeless youth of Seattle and the daily struggles they face, which one brandishing a hand gun in this particular image.
Followers and fans alike were quick to criticise Brooklyn on his controversial choice of regram, reminding him of his impressionable young followers and whether it's something his parents David and Victoria Beckham would be proud of.
Hmm. On one hand, BB's repost is a celebration of the photographer's work and shows his interest in the history of photography and iconic shots. On the other, it's perhaps an irresponsible Instagram post which could be taken the wrong way by people who don't understand the context.
Brookers later took the photograph down, and either way we're still big fans of his.
