As much as we love Zayn Malik forever and ever amen, he does have a tendency to crush all of our dreams and make us cry at the moment. Not only did he cancel his first TV appearance this week, but he's also said some pretty heartbreaking stuff about One Direction too.
Zayn's joining Zane Low (so much Zehhhnnn) on Beats 1 today, and in a couple of early preview clips, he openly admits that he 'always wanted' to leave One Direction 'since the first year'.
In the sneaky peek teaser clips revealed yesterday, Zayn opened up to Zane to admit that his departure from 1D was a long time coming, because he'd never wanted to be a part of the band as much as the other boys did.
"I think I always kind of wanted to go. From like the first year really, I never really wanted to be there in the band," Zayn said bluntly.
"I just gave it a go because it was there at the time, and then when I realised the direction we were going in with the music, I instantly realised it wasn't for me, I realised I couldn't put any input in.
"I couldn't give my opinion on this or that because it didn't fit the grain of what we were as a band, or what we represented."
Revealing that he wanted to make music that he had a passion for, Zayn explained: "So that's when it became frustrating for me. That's when I had to be like, I've got to start thinking about myself."

STOP IT PLEASE ZAYN. You're making people's faces leak.
