When Liam Payne from One Direction confirmed he was starting a solo career with Capitol UK, the internet reacted in a calm, collected and mature way.
By which we mean it went BATSHIT CRAZY and #OneDirectionIsOverParty was trending on Twitter worldwide for approximately 5,000 hours with the fandom, fellow fandoms and general users alike sharing their opinions on the whole thing.
Liam's tweets read: "Happy to have signed to @CapitolUK. They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps. One direction will always be my home and family but I'm very excited to see what this chapter brings."
He then took the link to onedirection.com out of his bio and replaced it with a link to liampayneofficial.com, and whilst some people thought this was him signalling that One Direction were no longer gonna get back together, others took it as his opportunity to have a bit of a solo career in the hiatus.
These are the sides Twitter took.
