You might be wondering why this is a big deal - and frankly we are too as there's no way we can imagine Hazza's input to 1D being quite as popular if he was forced to stay in an underground cave all day long - but after Ellis was targeted by internet trolls, we can't help thinking all these Twitter haters are getting a bit out of control.
Snapped driving around Manchester in Hazza's posh new car before stopping off for a coffee, Twitter trolls went a little bit mental, speculating about an illicit romance between Ellis and the 1D star. Although she was sent some very nice messages, some misguided individuals took the whole incident as an excuse to send her some pretty nasty ones too.
We don't know where these haters are from, but we're fairly sure that drinking a cup of coffee in someone's company doesn't necessarily mean you are about to elope to Vegas to be married by a man in an Elvis costume. Probably more that they share a liking for a hot beverage.
Anyway, taking to Twitter to defend herself, Ellis denied that she and Harry are anything more than friends, and said: "Wow, you people are sooo quick to make up rumours! Me & Harry went for coffee together as we haven't seen each other since last year!" [sic]
That wasn't it either, and Ellis clearly wanted to get to the bottom of things, saying: "We're only good friends and have been since high school. I have a lovely boyfriend called Phil so you can stop spreading rumours about me and Harry dating each other because we absolutely are not!"
Phew, we've heard briefer statements after celeb couples have divorced. But good on her for sticking up for herself.
And Phil. YOU GO PHIL!
To be honest, we have to say we believe her as we can't see anybody in their right mind denying that they had access to the Harry Styles love machine. Anyway, we think all these Twitter trolls are slightly missing the point - surely it's Louis Tomlinson they should be worried about anyway..
