One Direction have opened a pop-up store in New York following their rise to number one in the US album charts. We are not at all jealous, obviously.
Situated right next to Madison Square Gardens, where the boys have a sell out show lined up next month, One Direction World sells everything from 1D onesies to cardboard cut outs of all five of them. And they’re only $30 dollars each… Which is a reasonable price to pay for an oversized piece of paper, right?
Over 200 fans queued up for the launch of the store, despite the band being in London at the time. The first two girls even slept over night on the pavement before the opening.
Whilst this is great for 1D, and definitely highlights the enormity of their ever-growing US fan base, we’re pretty upset that New York get to wander aisle upon aisle of 1D dolls and t-shirts and pens and… whatever else it is that the shop actually sells… And we don’t.
Customers can sign their names on a wall of the store, and even pose next to a phone box - which we can do any time we want, HA!
The store, which is huge, by the way, closes on December 30th, has already ‘popped-up’ in Syndey, Toronto and Chicago. We’re just hoping London is the next stop.
