Now that Instagram are introducing fancy new features left, right and centre (see: new video searches, a monochrome design and a potential algorithm), we've got some suggestions about what they could do next.
CC: the CEO of Instagram, please and thank you.
1. The ability to go back and add new filters to photos later
You know when you upload a photo, think it looks great and then look at it 10 days later and wish you'd used a different filter to make your #foodporn look just that little bit better? In an ideal world, going back and editing photos/adding more filters and changing the crop would be great, tah.
2. A 'seen' function
With the new video function, you can see how many *views* your post has had and how many likes it got, but that doesn't help when it comes to seeing who looked at your post and continued to scroll passed. Y'all feel us? CC Instagram: introduce a little 'seen' tick that only the account holder can view.
3. A 'search' function in your followers
Is there anything more annoying that not knowing whether someone you follow follows you back or not? Hence why a 'search' function in your following/followers should be introduced, or a little message on their profile about whether or not they follow you - like on Twitter.
4. An automatic scroll
Peak laziness = hoping the Instagram homepage will eventually scroll by itself so we no longer have to get a tired thumb from scrolling through 12 hours worth of photos at a time. Sluggish, yes, but practical? HELL YEAH.
5. Introduce a gallery function
You know when you've got like 5 or 6 photos from the same awesome event (read: an all you can eat buffet) and you don't know which one to upload, wouldn't it be great if you could put them all into one post and people could scroll left and right to see them all if they wanted? Yeah, that.
6. Speed, reverse and cool video features An automatic scroll
A la Snapchat and a bit like Boomarang, we're hoping Instagram will soon add the ability to do REALLY cool things with video posts like speed them up, slow them down, change the order of things and add lots of cool edits in.
7. The options to change your profile to any colour
Instagram might have just introduced a fancy monochrome feature, but we're kind of sick of the whole 'white profile' thing we've got going on and quite fancy changing the top bar of our profile to something more fun. Like the header image we have on Facebook, essentially.
8. Be able to unlock more filters and editing options
Because surely we deserve to be rewarded for being completely and utterly addicted to Instagram, right? RIGHT? So we're in need of the opportunity to unlock all sorts of awesome filters, features and functions in return for the amount of miles we probably scroll in a week. Right? Good.
