Hey there Sugarscapers, Cybersmile here to wish you a happy May AND announce our latest celeb Cybersmiler of the month. EXCITING.
Last month saw meme victim Wentworth Miller crowned March's winner for his super gracious reaction to the cyberbullies, but who followed up this online #POSITIVITY in April?
None other than Bajan babe Rihanna, actually. This month Ri-Ri has been using her Twitter voice for good, and helping out one fan in particular who has had trouble coming to terms with his sexuality.
The fan reached out to the singer via Twitter as he felt there was nobody else he could talk to, but it was what Rihanna did next that makes her truly worth of the CS crown.
"Baby its ok to be scared, but its more important to be who you are! You don't have a choice really! That's not a decision to be made! You are who you are, and as hard as it may seem, the best s*** ever is freedom and peace within yourself! Your family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does!! And not to mention the community here amongst us, we will hold you down boo!!!"
She then continued to talk the fan through his coming out process, and to put the cherry on top of this cake of positivity (yup) even invited him to visit her during her ANTI world tour in July. Uhmazing.
So there you have it, another worthy winner and another dose of online #POSITIVITY. Thank you to Rihanna and her amazing fanbase for helping us on our quest to make the Internet a safer and happier place!
Remember, if you're being made to feel bad about yourself online, it shouldn't be tolerated. Nothing warrants Cyberbullying, especially your sexuality.
