Pretty much everyone on the planet has lived through a broken heart, and, even though Tumblr is the perfect place to wallow in misery for a while, there are some huge differences between how heartbreak is portrayed online to how it actually is.
Because the discrepancy between the two is literally enormous, we've decided to analyse how Tumblr would react to a certain scenario vs how most people *actually* deal with it.
The initial split.
On Tumblr, the most effective way to deal with a break-up is by writing poetry.
In real life, you just eat obscene amounts of pizza and ice-cream and forget to wash your hair.
How you then feel about your ex.
On Tumblr, you love them even though they've done you wrong.
In real life, you think they're a complete and total dick.
When important events roll around.
On Tumblr, you climb under your duvet and write emotional short-fiction.
In real life, you get dragged out by your mum and dad.
How you deal with your phone.
On Tumblr, you read your old texts and cry for a century.
In real life, you delete all your old texts. And block their number.
When you see your ex with their new gf.
On Tumblr, you write haikus to deal with the betrayal.
In real life, you have to catch yourself before you start bitching about everything.
When you decide to express your emotions.
On Tumblr, your artistic juices start flowing.
In real life, everything you produce is a total mess.
