You guys, Facebook are throwing it back to the MSN days with a potential new 'Rooms' feature and we may as well whack out our Von Dutch cap and khaki track pants to celebrate the nostalgia.
Yup, if you've been wondering when chatrooms and message board would make their comeback (RIP MySpace), Facebook might be doing exactly that after some clever little sausage noticed a new function in the website's code.
According to someone at Tech Crunch, Facebook are trialling "introducing rooms", which basically acts as a *public* group chat and allows you to interact with others about different topics and get involved in multiple discussions.
TC went on to say that the code for 'Rooms' teases that the they "are for public conversations about topics and interests. Each room has a link that can be shared so anyone on Messenger can join the conversation".
Whilst it might sound quite similar to group chats, where Rooms differs is that it gives you the opportunity to chat to strangers and likewise people about whatever takes your fancy. You can make conversations public, too, so anyone and everyone can join in when they want.
So, whaddaya reckon? Are you keen on this 'Rooms' thing or do you not think it'll ever happen? Let's discuss over on our Twitter or in the comment box below, yo.
