If you spent your whole life muting, avoiding and ignoring WhatsApp group chats, your life is probably about to change for the worse - because the new function makes it virtually impossible to not reply to messages.
Whether it's the One Direction appreciation society or planning your friend's surprise birthday in 2013, the chances are you're in a group chat that you tend to avoid reading until you want to say something and have your input. Right?
Well as of WhatsApps new update, it doesn't look like you'll be able to do that anymore after they introducing the ability to @ people within a group chat.
What this basically means is that if a message is directed at one - or multiple people - or someone isn't replying to something, you can @ them directly so they get another notification, even if the conversation's muted.
It's a bit like Twitter really, and just means that your notifications will blow up EVEN more from ignoring an important group chat then they would if you just replied.
What do you reckon, then? Are you on board with this idea or think it's a bit pointless to have double notifications? Let us know your thoughts over on our Twitter or in the comment box below.
